Since 1956, Heartland Community School (formerly Henderson) has hosted a band fundraiser called Smorgasbord. It’s the only fundraiser for band each year and helps to pay for new uniforms, travel, and so on. Smorgasbord is defined as a buffet of a wide variety of foods…in Henderson, that means German food (and all the calories that go along with it!). Band parents make and serve the food to approximately 1500 people each year (and in a town of 991 people, that’s pretty impressive!).
It’s time to update the Smorgasbord cookbook and I was asked to take photos of all the food…of course I had to do it right and found some cute props at Hobby Lobby! This was a really fun project and it made me want to do more food photography.
